Here's a couple

Older pic

How it sits today

She's a Ninety-Eight Holiday work in progress for sure...Owned her for almost 4 years now. Rebuilt #'s matching engine/trans, everything rebuilt underneath the car and I'm about to work on body/paint/interior. One day she'll be done..

Looks great! Do you still have the 6 pack on it? I'm jealous! What are your plans for the paint and interior? I had my seats professionally done...they were completely hashed (as in giant hole in the drivers side, the rest was crusty). It was expensive, but they look just like the originals. Mine had that stupid "Starlite" headliner, and it was a crumbling mess when I got the car. I ended up making my own headliner from some blue headliner material. Came out great, but isn't really original. I repainted my dash with the original colors. Still not sure what I'm doing for door panels...I don't think there's anyone locally that can do the job. And the steering wheel still isn't done  .

And be thankful you don't have that side trim to deal with...I almost wish I'd just welded up the holes on the upper quarter panel for the "spears" that go there. I'm working on hammering out all the dents and bends in them...it'll look ok, but not exactly show room  .

Hey! Thanks. Yes, the 6 pack is still there and working great, but gas these days is just rediculous. She's still my 1-and-only, my daily vehicle. That's about to change soon, though.

Sticking with the traditional 60s custom show car theme here...Paint will be solid candy apple red like back in the old days with a black tuck-n-roll. Probably black carpet, too. Chrome reverse with spinner caps and medium whitewalls and I'm done. Gonna look like it came right outta' the little magazines. I'm ripping out the current homebuilt airbag suspension for factory suspension with lowering blocks in the rear for a nice static stance. Airbags are troublesome, never again..

I'm actually thinking of putting the long sidetrim back on! haha i love these car's trim. I wish they made cardboard trunk kits for these cars, but I'll make my own, no biggie.

Yea, I hear you on the gas prices. I haven't had a V8 in a daily driver for a while...couldn't afford to these days. I used to have a 63 Galaxie...red/white top with a 352 big block and 3 speed/overdrive that was a DD for me back in college. Great car, but very thirsty. I have no idea what kind of mileage my 394 gets. Have to check it someday.

I like the sound of your plans...Candy apple red is a favorite of mine. And the trim really does look good on these cars. A bunch of mine just looks like it was run over with a truck  . If yours is in good shape, go for it. Are the clip holes welded up on your car, or just filled with filler? Doesn't really matter much...you can always make your own. I'm going to get creative with the clips for the "spears" on the rear quarters...I'm going to make some little sheet metal tabs and weld bolts to them so I can just put a nut and washer on the inside to hold it together.

And for the trunk, as far as I know nobody makes anything like that cardboard back there. Mine was trashed...water and oil soaked. There was a torn down small block chevy in my trunk when I bought the car. If you look in the "before" pic in my post, you can see the trunk bowed outward...the engine block did that. Anyway, all that crap really ruined the trunk material. Last summer I stripped it all down as best I could, and give it all a really heavy coat of primer and then a couple coats of a red alkyd enamel (with hardener) that was a pretty close shade to the body. Same stuff I painted the inside of my car with after I welded in the new floor panel. Looks pretty good, but I'm still not completely sure what I'm going to do back there...maybe hit it with some "speckle" paint or something. Or just leave it alone, I don't know. I don't have enough of the original cardboard to make use as a template for a new one.

It's hard to find the time to do all the thing we'd like to do :) . Just do what you can...if you're not posting here because you're working on your car, that's great...just post some pictures when you're done  .

I'm looking forward to cruising here pretty soon too...it might be a little while though. We just snow this weekend, and it's not warming up  . I'm so ready for winter to be done!!!! . Grrr. About two weeks ago it was 70 degrees here...

Thanks for the feature! Looks great. Thought I'd stop in and say hi and let you guys know I'm still around...just not 100% involved as I'd like to be, but that'll happen again soon. Cooler weather comming into Texas soon, so you know I'll be cruising the 98 again, soon. Thanks again, guys. I love what's happened here.
